COVID-19 UPDATE
JUNE 2020
With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in Edinburgh it was decided with great regret to suspend the Listening Service from 20 March 2020. The decision was taken in consultation with the Sheriff Court authorities taking account of the health of the volunteers and of the significant reduction in court activity due to Coronavirus.
In the longer term the Board of the Listening Service is committed to a continuation of the valuable service it provides in supporting users of the Sheriff Court. In view of the present uncertainty about a return to more normal levels of activity, the Board is consulting with Court officials on whether there are other possible ways of continuing the listening service.
